Statement of Faith

What we Believe

We believe that if a person trusts Jesus for eternal life, that person will be transformed into a “new creation” and that person will be able to do all things through Christ (Jesus) who gives us strength. (Phillipians 4:13, 2 Cor 5:17)

God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit

God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit are distinct personalities with distinct roles yet are united with the same mind and purpose in revealing God’s love to humanity and seeking our redemption. (2 Cor 13:14, John 14: 15-17, John 16: 5-11, Romans 8:14-17)

Hearing from and communicating with God through:

  • The Holy Bible: We believe the Holy Bible to be the word of God.  We believe the Holy Bible is given to us in written form by inspiration of God.  We read the word written in 39 books of the “old testament” and 27 books of the “new testament” and we appreciate there are many versions.  For English translations, we encourage KJV, NKJV, ESV, Living Translation and more. We believe all Holy Scripture is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction for righteousness (2 Tim 3:16).  We cannot practically endorse all versions, so we encourage careful study and prayerful consideration.
  • Prayer: We believe we can communicate with God directly through prayer: alone, with 2 or 3 others, or corporately in a group. (Jer 33:3, Psalm 17:6, 27:8, 50:15, Matt 18:20)
  • Worship: Similar to prayer, we believe we communicate with God in Worship.  Often we think of music and singing, instruments and percussion. Worship can also be alone, with 2 or 3, or in an assembly.  Worship can also be expressed in poetry, art, exercise, hobbies and work.  Even nature “Worships” God.  (Psalm 19:1-4, 100:1-5, Romans 1:20)
  • Revelation: God is able to speak to us in numerous ways, through prayer and His written Word (the Bible), but He also will “write His word on our hearts” (Rom 2:15, Jer 31:31-34). He seeks to have a personal relationship with us and He will confirm that through revealing His will and His word to our hearts.

Eternity

As sin has separated us from God, Jesus is the way to reconcile us to God.  When we receive Jesus, we receive Eternal Life.  Without Salvation, we are forever separated from God. (John 3:16, 3:36, 5:24, 10:28, Rev 21:3)

Faith, Hope and Love

We believe men and women are created in the image of God.  At creation, Adam and Eve (first man and first woman) were perfect.  Sin entered and separated us from God.

  • Faith: Faith (believing and trusting) in Jesus is the only way to be reconciled with God.  Believing Jesus came down (from heaven) to earth, lived as a man perfectly, was condemned to death (though He was innocent), was crucified to death on the cross, and then raised to life on the third day. Jesus now reigns victorious for us over sin, death and the devil. (Hebrews 11:1)
  • Hope: We have hope of Eternal Life (salvation) based on Jesus’s obedience and fulfillment of the “Passover Lamb”. (Romans 15:12)
  • Love: God lovingly offers salvation to every person.  Every Person has the liberty to accept this free gift from God. (1 Cor 13:13, 1 Thes 1:3)
